With Africa’s population drastically on the rise, statistics show that the continent will need to double food production by 2030 in order to feed everyone. This is putting serious strain on the continent’s land and water resources, and unless we can find an alternative food cultivation method – Africa could be facing food shortages before long. With sustainable farming solutions, like Spring Green Farm’s climate control rooms, communities can actually sustainably cultivate their own food.

The global trend towards the use of alternative farming methods such as hydroponics, aquaponics, aeroponics, and sprouting is what pushed Spring Green Farm towards finding sustainable feeding solutions for the African continent.

Founded in 2016 by Heinz von Fintel, Spring Green Farm is dedicated to researching and developing effective sustainable farming solutions – with special focus on the farming of microgreens, sprouts, sustainable animal fodder cultivation, and the implementation of food security hubs in rural communities across South Africa and into the African continent. Our quality green sprouts are produced in an environment where the temperature, humidity, air and water are carefully controlled to create an ideal environment for optimum growth.
